All About Your OSAP Access Number(OAN)

It’s that time of year again! With the Summer term in full swing and the 2013-2014 Fall/Winter term coming up, we have been getting a lot of calls about OAN numbers. Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked OAN questions.

What’s an OAN?

The OSAP Access Number (OAN) is a nine-digit number that is assigned to you when you first apply for OSAP. Once you are assigned an OAN, it becomes your unique identifying number and will not change.

Don’t have an OAN?

If this is your first time applying for OSAP, you can get an Ontario Access Number and personal password by creating a new account at ontario.ca/osap.

Forgotten your OAN or Password?

If you have forgotten your OAN and/or password, or have been locked out of the OSAP website, don’t worry. The OSAP website provides instructions on retrieving your OAN, resetting your password, and unlocking your account.

Entrance Bursary Application Now Available!

The Carleton University Entrance Bursary is now available on Carleton Central for new students starting at Carleton in fall 2013. To be eligible to apply, you need to have received an offer of admission.

Reminder: Keep Your Previous OSAP Loans Interest-Free

Wrapping up your studies this summer? No longer receiving OSAP funding? Going on a co-op work term?

If so, it’s important to remember that as a full-time student, it’s your responsibility to keep any previous OSAP loans interest-free and out of repayment by completing a Continuation of Interest Free Status form.

Student Loan Repayment Seminar Tuesday, April 9

Join us for a 45-minute seminar hosted by the National Student Loan Service Centre. You will learn everything you need to know about repaying your Government Student Loans including; how and when to consolidate your loans, repayment options, interest rates and the Repayment Assistance Program. There will be plenty of time left to ask questions after each 45-minute presentation.
