Home / Student Plans

Students can now purchase more than one plan at a time, allowing you to take advantage of even more savings! For example, a residence student could have a convenience plan for laundry, books etc. and also a dining dollars plan to save 15% on all purchases at Dining Services locations.

Off Campus Meal Plans allow students not living on campus to save money when buying food at Carleton. The OCMPs let students save approximately 10% on all meals they eat through the plan. Off Campus Meal Plans can only be purchased at the Campus Card office, and all meal plans to be used at the Fresh Food Company (The all-you-care-to-eat residence dining facilities). All remaining meals expire at the end of the school year in April.

Cash Plans

Convenience Dollars (Plan 75)

The account is valid everywhere your Campus Card is accepted (including food and copying/printing), and all funds carry over from year to year. With a minimum deposit of $5, this is by far the easiest account to use. However, no discounts or tax exemptions apply to this plan. Deposits may be made online.

Dining Dollars (Plan 50) - Residence Meal Plan Holders Only

This account holds the Dining Dollars that automatically come with your residence meal plan, and offers tax exemption and a 2% discount – a total of 15% savings on all purchases! This account is only valid at University Dining Services locations (for a list of all locations, please see our On-Campus Use page.) Deposits can not be made to this account, but can be made to your Dining Dollars Top Up account, which offers all the same benefits and restrictions. Please note:

  • Once the account is zero, more money can be added to your Dining Dollars Top Up account – and all the applicable discounts and tax exemptions will be maintained.
  • Money that comes with residence meal plans is divided by term. The amounts deposited are not equal, as they are pro-rated by the number of days in each term. Thus, if the fall term is longer, you will receive more money for this term.
  • Refunds are not available for this account from the CampusCard Office. All residence meal plans and associated cash components are managed by the Housing Office

If this account reaches zero in the middle of a transaction, simply ask the cashier to swipe the card again and the Card will automatically start deducting funds from the next account with funds in it.

All remaining funds on this plan expire at the end of the school year (April 30th).

Dining Dollars Top Up (Plan 51) - Residence Meal Plan Holders Only

This account complements the Dining Dollars component of your selected residence meal plan and offers tax exemption and a 2% discount – a 15% savings. It is valid only at University Dining Service locations. This plan requires a minimum deposit of $5, and has a maximum balance of $4000. Deposits may be made online.

All remaining funds on this plan expire at the end of the school year (April 30th).

Photocopying/Laserprinting Dollars (Plan 301)

This account is valid only at photocopiers and laserprinters and all funds carry over from year to year. No discounts or tax exemptions apply to this plan. Deposits cannot be made online.
