Developed On-Line Bursary Application System

The Applications Development group worked with the Awards & Financial Aid Office over the spring/summer to develop a multi-purpose on-line application system accessible to students via Carleton Central for the submission and assessment of undergraduate financial need based bursaries and awards.

This new system will allow the Awards Office to reach a broader base of students who wish to be considered for financial need based bursaries/awards as well as to automate several manual processes that are required to administer awards.

Student access to institutional financial support programs has been improved and the application process has been significantly streamlined making it easier than ever for a student to complete an undergraduate bursary application.   The turnaround time for assessing an application will be decreased and communication with students will be handled electronically. The current tool will also provide a mechanism for a student to track the progress of their application on Carleton Central.

The on-line application system for bursaries/awards went live on September 6th, 2011.
