WebCT is Carleton’s current Learning Management System (LMS).
Carleton WebCT has over 150,000 student course registrations in some 7000 (plus) available course sections. Carleton University instructors use WebCT to deliver course content and to communicate with students online.
Notice: WebCT is coming to the end of its life cycle. Carleton has selected cuLearn (powered by Moodle) to replace WebCT. Find out more about cuLearn on the LMS Support website.
Getting Started
Faculty and Instructors: you should obtain a Faculty Computing Account (FCA) and contact your Departmental Administrator to ensure that you have been added to the Banner system as the course instructor.
- Log into WebCT from the LMS login page or from the MyCarleton Portal on the Staff/Faculty homepage.
Students: your instructor will let you know if your course is on WebCT.
- Log into WebCT from the LMS login page or from the MyCarleton Portal on the Current Students homepage.
WebCT Training
The Educational Development Centre provides faculty and teaching assistants with group and individual training as well as documentation to aid in the use of the WebCT tool, in the following ways:
- One-on-one training appointments are made with the client.
- Necessary support documentation is provided at training time.
- When appropriate, information is e-mailed to the client.
