Change to the Exchange Global Address List

In preparation for the transition to a more recognized email address style, changes have been made to the Exchange Global Address List (GAL). Exchange users will see that contacts in the GAL appear with a space rather than the underscore. This is a visual change only and has no impact on email functionality.

Transitioning from the Underscore to the Dot

In 2013 a new feature is coming to Carleton.ca email addresses: a dot. At the moment, official email addresses use an underscore (_) to separate first and last names.  In the new year, the dot (.) will replace the underscore as a separator.
