President Roseann O’Reilly Runte is pleased to be honouring employees who have served Carleton University for 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years, as well as those employees retiring from Carleton. Please join her on June 27^th from 1:30p.m. to 4:00p.m. in the River Building Lecture Hall (room 2200) for a ceremony to commemorate these individuals followed by a reception in the River Building Atrium with light snacks and refreshments.

Managers, supervisors and co-workers of individuals being honoured are invited to join.

Accessible Learning Workshop

Accessible Learning is an important workshop that is presented in response to the educator training requirement under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Beyond Carleton’s compliance with the AODA, it will provide you with critical insight and strategies to enrich your teaching and create more inclusive and accessible learning environments.

Accessible Learning is about variability and flexibility in pedagogical perspectives, realizing equity as excellence in teaching practices, and efforts to reduce the reliance on out-of-class accommodations.

The workshop is presented by Boris Vukovic, a Carleton alumnus, a Disabilities Coordinator at the PMC, and a Ph.D. Candidate in Educational Psychology at McGill University. Boris has presented for a number of years on accessibility in learning environments and brings to the workshop an in-depth knowledge of relevant theory and research in teaching and learning.

Retirement Planner Tool

Carleton’s Retirement Planner is an easy and convenient way to estimate your Carleton pension. The Planner includes data up to June 30, 2012. This means that all Pension Plan members who joined the plan prior to June 30, 2012 can use the Planner for pension estimates.

For assistance with this tool, please refer to the Retirement Planner Tool Reference Guide.

If you have any questions regarding accessing and running the Planner or interpreting the results, you can contact Jean Ouellette (x8637) or Neil Courtemanche (x8639).

HR Golf Tournament 2013

Human Resources will be having its annual golf tournament on Wednesday June 26th at Greensmere Golf & Country Club. The tournament format will be “Shot-Gun & Best Ball” and will be followed by dinner and a prize ceremony.

The details

Date: Wednesday June 26th
Time: Noon tee off. Dinner will be served around 6pm.
Where: Greensmere Golf and Country Club
Who: Each participant is invited to organize his/her foursome. Colleagues, friends, relatives and spouses are all welcome.
Cost: Golf, prize ceremony and dinner is $85. Prize ceremony and dinner only is $25.
Deadline: All payments must be received by June 19th.
