The Staff Relations section of Human Resources conducts collective bargaining with the staff associations and unions on the University’s behalf. In addition, we assist with the development and application of collective agreements and University policies governing academic and non-academic staff.
Staff Relations advises managers generally with respect to both union and non-union employment relationships and provides training to managers.
Staff Relations also advises managers regarding such processes as:
- performance management
- progressive discipline
- redundancies
- grievance handling
- arbitration
