NOTICE! Building Closures during the 2012 Holidays

The university will close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 and re-open Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.  During this period, the Department of University Safety will accommodate requests for building access on an as-requested basis.  The Patrol Office can be reached at 613-520-3612.

Recreation and Athletics:

The Athletics facilities will be closed Dec. 24 to 26, and 31, and Jan. 1, 2013.
The Ice House will be closed only on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2013.
All other days during the holiday period Recreation & Athletics are open regular hours.

Ice House – Reduced hours:
Monday, Dec. 24                                                                            closes at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 26                                                                            closes at 9 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 31                                                                            closes at 6:30 p.m.

Recreation and Athletics will be back to regular hours on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.

Residence:

The following five residence buildings will remain open for the Christmas period; Russell, Leeds, Lennox and Addington, Prescott, and Frontenac.  Only those residents who requested and received permission to remain over this period of time will have access to their rooms in these buildings. Campus cards will be deactivated on doors that access all of the other residence buildings, so that no resident can enter after 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20 until noon on  Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.

The residence dining facility serves its last meal at lunch until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20 and serves its first meal in 2013 at dinner on Sunday, Jan. 6.  During the period of the university closedown, Dec. 21 to Jan. 2, no other dining service outlets will be open. Leeds, Prescott and Frontenac, however, are suite-style residences where students are able to prepare their own meals.  Residents of Lennox and Addington and Russell have access to a microwave in their TV lounge to prepare food.

Looking for a free ride? The daily schedule for the free shuttle bus between Carleton University and the University of Ottawa can be picked up at Information Carleton.
