What is CU@NIGHT?

The CU @ NIGHT program provides both on- and off-campus Carleton students with alternative on-campus opportunities to alcohol-related activities during evening and weekend hours, and it allows students to gain experiences in social interaction, event coordination and leadership development.

Through CU @ NIGHT the SEO develops and facilitates quality late night programming, events and activities to engage students in a socially responsible environment. A late night activity is described as an event that is held on the Carleton University campus, in the evening hours and is social, recreational and/or educational in nature.

Student-Organized Events

Student groups or student leaders who are holding late night activities that are open to the entire campus community can have their event featured here. The benefits of holding a late night event include increased awareness for your organization in the Carleton Community and promotions support from the University, among other things.

Event Listing Guidelines

Email latenight@carleton.ca to submit your event.

Benefits of Holding a Late Night Activity

  • Increased awareness of your student organization in the Carleton University community;
  • Opportunity for financial support for your event from the Student Experience and Student Affairs Offices;
  • Student activity advisory support from the Student Experience Office;
  • Exposure on the Student Experience Office website on the CU @ Night Calendar of Events; and
  • Opportunity to receive help from the University with promoting your event.

Financial Support

Is a small budget or lack of resources putting your great event idea out of reach? Student groups may apply to receive financial support for their activity from the Student Activities Fund through the Office of Student Affairs.

Applications by student organizations must be submitted at least four weeks prior to their event and funds may be used for equipment, supplies or educational programming costs.

Event organizers applying for funds must also complete the Student Events Risk Management Form at least 14 days before the activity.

Submit an Idea!

Do you have an idea for an engaging late night activity? Let us know! Whether you want assistance with planning an engaging night of evening entertainment, or you simply want to submit an idea for the University to consider, we’d love to know.
