Home / CU Parents

The Student Experience Office recognizes the role that parents and family play in supporting the transition of their son or daughter to Carleton. Transition to university can be difficult for both students and family members. There are various offices on campus that offer transition programming for students and resources for parents. Below are some useful links for parents to know about.

  • Check out the CU Parents website – a site specifically for parents/guardians of Carleton students. This website offers a comprehensive view of campus resources, the administrative logistics surrounding university policies, and information for supporting your student while they attend Carleton. CLICK HERE to visit this section of our website.
  • Carleton publishes a monthly newsletter called The Enlightened Parent that contains opportunities for students, important dates and deadlines, and information for parents. To subscribe to the newsletter CLICK HERE.
  • The Summer Orientation Program is a program designed for new students and their parent(s) or guardian(s). Each one-day session during the summer period (July-August) is designed to promote your academic success and individual development. Orientation is the first step in your transition to Carleton University and we strongly encourage all first year students and their parent(s) or guardian(s) to actively participate in the program. To read more about this program or to register please CLICK HERE.
