Summer Orientation is a program designed for new students and their parent(s) or guardian(s). Each one-day session during the summer period (July-August) is designed to promote your academic success and individual development. Orientation is the first step in your transition to Carleton University and we strongly encourage all first year students and their parent(s) or guardian(s) to actively participate in the program. Our informative presentations, small-group activities, academic advising and support with class registration will help every first-year student enter university informed and confident.

Registration Fee: $30 per person (includes lunch buffet, parking and all the benefits of the Summer Orientation Program).

Summer Orientation Session Dates

Over 4,000 new students will attend Summer Orientation this year and we are excited to welcome each and every one! Getting a good start is critical to success in university, so make sure to register early for a Summer Orientation session.

The one-day Summer Orientation sessions begin July 5 and run until August 18. Summer Orientation offers faculty spotlight sessions as well as regular open sessions. If you are unable to attend your faculty spotlight session, there are a number of “open” sessions available to all students of any academic program.
